Mass Highway/Dept of Transportation Rejects the 25% Mass Ave. Corridor Plan!
In a stunning rebuke to Kevin Greeley and his supporters, the 25% Massachusetts Avenue Corridor Plan was rejected by the Mass. Highway/Department of Transportation, according to reliable sources. The basis for the rejected because of:
- Inadequate studies of the impact of the Plan on side streets.
- Inconsistencies in the traffic counts
- Insufficient evidence of the impact of sidewalk bump-outs, and
- No information about the long-term (20 year) ramification of the proposed
plan.
The Plan has been sent back for further work, and may be resubmitted if and when these shortcomings are addressed to the state's approval.
